Manpants and Prostate Cancer Charity

Now, I'm not really about lil' manpants (unless they are for girls a la American Apparel in which case they are cute), but I saw these on Figleaves and you know, any excuse for shopping online, especially if charity is involved...

DT has collaborated with Orla Kiely to create these brightly coloured limited edition briefs exlusively for Figleaves (£19 each). During June, 20% of the net sales of these briefs goes to The Prostate Cancer Charity, which I think is a purretty good thing.

They may even come in handy as a Father's Day gift (although they are perhaps best left to buying for your partner, from your children rather than inviting scary imagery of your own father in these crazy things!)

PS - Sorry if i already invoked those images by mentioning it :-S

Get 'em here.

Swimwear

It figures that all the nice new swimwear hits stores the week I get back from holiday.

This Rigby & Peller Underwired Balcony Bikini top is a gorgeous shape even displays an emerald cut Swarovski crystal, how decadent!

It also comes in turquoise and plunge and padded plunge styles. It also has the added bonus in coming in an excellent size range.

Bikini Top - £64.95

Brief styles range from - £39.95 - £49.95

Available in sizes - 30/38 D/H

Figleaves has 10% off all swimwear, but hurry because it ends on Friday 16th. Code: MAYSWIM

WTF?

I'm sorry, but LaSenza... Does this bra look like it fits in any way at all?

Her boobs are like 3 inches higher than the bottom of the cups... actually, they aren't even in the cups! It looks like they're just being flattened and squished against her chest. Poor model.

FYI, the support and lift from a bra should come from the band and underneath the bust, not from the straps.

Sorry!

Hey gals, sorry for the long absence. Been sunning it up in the lovely Marsa Alam and had some Internet issues! I'll be back to posting very soon...

Boudiche

Boudiche's online store has a wonderful DD+ lingerie section to suit all your seductive needs!

This Rigby & Peller Giselle Padded Balcony Bra's ribbon detailing is absolutely gorgeous, as is the lace creeping up the cups. The Boudiche site also gives a review from it's fitters, and if you are in between sizes, they recommend you go up a cup, as it can fit a little small. Oh, and make sure you go matching with this set, the briefs create the perfect peachy butt!

Available in sizes 30/36 D/F

You can also get the bra in a full cup style.

Bra - £66
Brief - £33
String - £25

Rigby and Peller Vintage

R&P's Spring/Summer 2008 Vintage Collection pays homage to a bygone era of sophistication mixed with pretty modern plunge shapes... well, we don't want to re-create fifties style conical cups now, do we?!

This Vintage Underwired Plunge Bra is ideal for low cut clothing and has gorgeously detailed embroidered cups adorned with tiny Swarovski crystals... it's too pretty not to show!

Available in sizes 30/38 D/G

The above colour is Bellini and it also comes a plain Ivory.

Bra - £72.95

It comes with matching briefs, french knickers and a thong, ranging from £41.95 - £54.95

£5 Off Selected Triumph

Hey all. Figleaves is currently giving £5 off selected Triumph bras. I'd bypass most of them (too old fash) but there are a couple of cute ones in there:

This My Desire underwired bra  is a no fuss, simple semi-sheer bra that gives clean lines and still fits a lil' bit of pretty in there with the embroidered flowers.

It is also available in white (which is not discounted) and comes with matching briefs (also not discounted) but unless your down with the high waisters, I'd give them a miss.

Available in sizes 32/44 B/F (excellent size range, just wish it went down to 30)

Bra - £20 (was £25)

Get Me A P!

OMG, I am in love with Agent Provocateur's entire new collection. It's everything you wish your lingerie was - cute, pretty, sexy, stylish... and expensive!

The Bridget collection is so adorable with the ribbons and bows, but the sheer cups give it a cheeky twist.

Available in sizes 32/38 A/F

Bra - £65

Speaking of cheeky, check out Cherry:

Available in sizes 32/38 A/E

Bra - £55

Natasha is hot too:

Available in sizes 32/36 A/E

Bra - £75

These collections come with the who shebang - stockings, suspenders etc... They're all so gorgeous and the absolute perfect mixture of sexy and sweet that I like my lingerie to be.

Just Peachy

This Just Peachy bra is, well... just peachy!

At only £12, this underwired lace balconette bra has lovely scalloped edges around the 3/4 cups and is both feminine and sexy. It also comes in white and light beige but with the lace and scalloping it runs the risk of looking a bit bridal.

Available in sizes 30/38 B/G

Get it here on Figleaves.

How Awesome is This?!

Check this out, I saw it on Buzz Feed. What a great idea!

They are detachable camisole tops so you can wear low cut tops without having the camisole seams peaking through your outfit. They are called Winkees, I'm not sure if you can get them in the UK yet, but here's the website.

However I can't help but think I could get the same effect from a pair of knickers... hmm, I'll remember to try that later when I'm bored.

Bodas

I am in love with Bodas at the moment. They don't technically do my size, but sometimes I can wear a 32E, a back size smaller and a cup size bigger than my normal size. The bras look sooo soft and smooth and comfy. I have a thing at the moment for really soft, basics. If you are lucky enough to fit into their size range (generally around 32/38 A/E) then they are great for mixing and matching.

Their Sheer Tactel Underwire Bra is so perfectly pretty and supposedly gives good support with clean lines. It comes in Black, natural, pebble grey, blush pink and raspberry. I only hope they will expand their size range in the near future.

Bra - £36
Mini Briefs - £17

Available in sizes 32/36 A/E

Also, how cute are these?

If you are especially anal, you can use these to pack your underwear in your drawers or when travelling to keep them neat and clean! They are pure cotton with a little wooden button fastening. They cost £3 each and you can get them here.

Rigby and Peller Warehouse Sale

The infamous Rigby and Peller warehouse sale begins next week on Thursday the 3rd of April until Friday the 4th.

All bras £15, briefs £5 and swimwear £15 and under. Get there REALLY early as the queues are a nightmare and all the good stuff will be gone. It's changed venue so I don't know how big it is, but in the old place they'd only let a few people in at a time.

Thursday 11am - 9pm
Friday 10am - 8pm

The new venue:
20th Century Theatre.
291 Westbourne Grove,
LONDON
W11 2QA

WTF?

Are you tired of regular bikini bottoms?

Are you fed-up with the lack of crotch accessories?

How does an alphabet mobile displayed across your area sound?

What was that? Good? Wow, then I have found the perfect pair of briefs for you...

Guess what, they are also on sale! Hmm, I wonder why? I'm sure there are enough designer slaves that would buy these at full price (£73 anyone?). Who wouldn't love to have the letters 'D' and 'Y' semi-permanently in a pale pre-tan flesh colour on each thigh.

Awesome.

If you didn't detect the heavy sarcasm, get 'em on Figleaves.

Pssst... There's even a one-piece to match!

E-bay

When you're looking for lingerie and swimwear, don't discount e-bay. There are some great sellers out there, but I would recommend buying from an e-bay shop.

I just got this past season Freya bikini set for £24.50 from e-bay shop The Body Beautiful, which sells lingerie and swimwear.

This set was £50 originally, so I got it for a good price, as it had previously been used as a sample, which explains the large discount. The set was classed as 'New: with tags', yet the items were not tagged when received. However, the bikini and bottoms appear to be in good condition, I'll just be sure to wash them first.

Just remember that when something has a huge discount, it won't necessarily be 100% perfect. Don't let this put you off though, check out some of these lingerie and swimwear e-bay shops:

Natural Figures
Whatagirlwants
Undercover Lingerie

I also ordered in this Tankini from Next. The stores in my area did not stock swimwear above a D, but styles do go up to an F-cup. You can order them from the Next directory in store, and if you pick them up in store, delivery is free.

(By the way, I do realise it is a little early to be discussing swim wear, but I'm going to Egypt next month so I've been shopping around for bikinis... Bragging, moi?!)

The cups are moulded and shape enhancing apparently, not that us F-cups really need much more enhancing. Anyhoo, I thought the top and shorts would be pretty comfy and supportive enough for snorkeling and skin diving along the Red Sea reefs (What? I'm not bragging again!).

The tankini comes in black and jade and is available in sizes 32/38 A/F

Tankini - £18 (£16 if D-cup and under, pssssht)
Shorts - £10

Figleaves Sale

Figleaves' up to 50% off Easter (any excuse!) sale started today, so go find yourself a bargain.

Debenhams is also on sale right now, offering up to 50% off most of the store.

Also, I've just snapped up a couple of bikinis at Tu in Sainsbury's, which currently has 25% off all clothing and accessories. They only go up to an E-cup from a 34 back, but I found I could fit in some of the tops fitted by dress size, something I do not usually like to do. However, if you have time and can sew, it isn't too difficult to buy something in a large cup and take in the back band if needed.

M & S

Here's the bra from M&S I was talking about a couple of posts ago.

It's strange, because the image above is listed as the padded bra, but it looks like the non-padded one I have and the image of the bra below on the big breasted model looks padded, not non-padded like the listing!

Odd... It looks much nicer in the fist picture... they are the same colour too, but the lighting makes them look different.

Both padded and non-padded
bras are £16
Thong - £6
Shorts - £8
The padded 30/40 A/DD

Disappointed

I said I'd update you about the £7.50 LaSenza bargain bra I posted about last week...

Well, it came today (finally) and I was disappointed. For starters, it didn't fit, the cups cut across my bust giving me '4-boobs'. I imagine it would be uncomfortable to wear as the bottom of the cups are pumped up with some sort of foam... This is probably why the cups didn't fit right, as the foam must have been forcing my boobs up and out of the cups!

I was then annoyed to find out that they provide you with a returns label, but you need to pay for the postage and packaging again to send it back, which I think is a bit cheeky.

Sigh, I guess you get what you pay for... I vow not to get sucked in next time!

Sales and Stuff

Both Marks and Spencer and Debenhams are on sale, with some pretty good bargains going on in the lingerie departments. Be quick though, as we all know how fast sizes run out.

I bought a pretty fushia and lime green set (trust me, it looks better then it sounds) in M&S today after, throwing the good intention of only buying sale items out of the window! Unfortunately, it isn't on the site, but as soon as I get my hands on an image, I'll post it on as it's so fun and pretty. Apparently it was on This Morning today, if you caught that.

Meandering off the lingerie subject, I'm really excited 'cos I finally got my hands on some of the M.A.C. Fafi stuff I've been eyeing up for weeks as well today. I love the lipstick in Flash'n'Dash, a really bright red/orange to glam-up the fast approaching Spring days!

Go Green!

For all of you out there that don't already know, Figleaves has introduced a new section - Greenleaves stocking a range of eco-friendly and ethical brands.

Now, there's no time like the present to re-think our buying habits. It really would make a difference in the world to start buying clothing made from sustainable sources that are ethically and fairly produced and traded, made from organically farmed materials that avoid the use of chemicals and are recyclable to protect the ecosystem.

This all sounds good in theory, but unfortunately we all know how pricey it can be to live a green life, many of us simply feel we cannot afford it. Like most people, I love a good bargain - I'm not perfect, I couldn't resist buying LaSenza's £7.50 bra.

However, it's a shame that we've been conditioned to expect rock bottom prices - you can go to Primark and buy tops for as little as £1.50. We are slowly coming to believe that clothes shouldn't last very long, that they are easily and cheaply replaceable. What kind of quality can you expect from a garment costing as little as £1.50? No wonder we are shocked by the prices of eco-friendly clothing brands. Perhaps we need to re-condition ourselves into paying a little more for something that will hopefully last a little longer, which can in turn help us to buy a little less, evening out the money we spend and perhaps doing a little good in the world...

This 3/4 cup balconette by Chantelle is made from a sustainable bamboo jersey blend.

It looks gorgeously laid back and comes in sizes 32/38 B/F, although the E-cup and above only begins at a 36-back, hopefully there will will be a bigger demand for these kinds of products and we can all enjoy a wider size range.

For now, those of us who cannot enjoy the bra can treat themselves to the matching shorts, which are so cute and comfy looking. I'd wear these with a seamless black satin bra or with a T-shirt to bed.

Bra - £39
Shorty - £24

View Chantelle's Bamboo range here.

However, if you are an eco-friendly buyer with cash to spend and the above look is not glamorous enough for your liking, then check out this printed silk dressing gown and sexy knicks by Eco Boudoir.

Now who says green isn't sexy?

Dressing gown - £323 (S,M,L)
Silk Satin tie brief - £70 (S,M,L)

Bargain!

3-way T-shirt bra from LaSenza... Only £7.50!

This has to be the cheapest bra that goes up to an F-cup that I've ever seen. There aren't any pictures of these bras on a large-cupped model, so I'm not sure whether the thickness of the straps change to offer more support... However, I couldn't resist the bargain and I've ordered one! I'll let you know how it fits!

Miss Mandalay Bella Plunge Bra

This non-padded lace bra from Miss Mandalay is gorgeous.

The plunge shape and low back band look really flattering. Although it's probably not suitable for daily wear, it would look perfectly seductive just barely peeking out of a dress with a plunging neckline. It's a shame about the briefs though, they're a bit too deep for my liking...

Available in sizes 32/36 D/FF

Briefs - £35
Thong - £33

Disgruntled

Does it really bug anyone else when you can't search sites for bras by your size? What am I supposed to do, search through every single bra, getting routinely disappointed when your size is out of stock? It's like you fall in love at first sight and then 2 seconds later, your heart is broken and your soul is crushed. It really is quite taxing, you know. (In case you haven't noticed, I obviously have a penchant for the dramatic).

...And La Senza need to hurry up and get most of their DD+ bras to go beyond an E cup. Its barely DD+ if it only goes one size beyond that.

Don't mind me... I'm just feeling a bit rant-y.

Curves and Lace

Curves and Lace is site a cool site specialising in big bras that is dedicated to finding pretty bras that are 'feminine, confident and fun!'

They stock Freya, one of my favourite ranges along with brands such as Gossard, Panache, Fantasie, Charnos....

However, the a lot of the Freya bras in stock are from past seasons and I received their catalogue today and was a bit annoyed to see that some of the Freya bras were listed as full price, yet they were on sale on the website. The catalogue is their 2007/8 collection, so I hope they'll update it soon and get some more new stock in!

Fauve by Fantasie Amandine Underwired Balconette Bra

The shape of this bra is what first caught my eye. The band of the bra is quite deep and the cups are full and quite high, making it look like a crop top with cups!

It has an old school, elegant vibe to, the bronze version especially having a vintage look to it.

Available in sizes 30/42 D/G

Bra - £45

Matching items available, see them here.

Donate Your Bras to Charity

Breasttalk.co.uk are currently running an appeal where you can send your bras into Breast Talk - providing they are in good condition - and they will distribute them to charities both in the UK and overseas.

Any sizes are accepted, as well as nursing and maternity bras. They just ask that they are not too sexy or see-through (although I'm sure underprivileged women want to be sexy too, but I guess functionality is the primary objective here)!

To donate, place them in a a Jiffy bag or box and make sure they have been washed. Write down the size on a piece of paper and attach it to a strap with a paper clip. If the bra is new, let them know.

Send to:
BreastTalk.co.uk - Bra Appeal
PO Box 71
Craven Arms
SY7 0WZ
ENGLAND

Unfortunately they are not equipped to handle large donations from companies or organisations.

Help out by copying this post on your blog, displaying their banner or printing out their flier, find out more information on the Breast Talk Appeal here.

Agent Provocateur Nikita Bra

I love the shape of this bra, the cut is so simple and it manages to heighten and sculpt the bust with apparently 'minimum effort'.

Now I normally harbour detest for thick bra straps but the way these ones flare out seamlessly from the cups add to the unique shape of this bra and balance out your curvy figure.

The indented 'V' in the centre of the bust adds a little sexiness to this otherwise plain bra - it just goes to show that you don't always need embroidery, frills and lace - a flattering cut and sensuous material go a long way.

Available in sizes 32/38 A/F

Bra - £75

There are many other items in the Nikita range, including this bra with a demi cup, also coming in green.

Stella's Lingerie

Now I'm sure all you lingerie connoisseurs have been well aware of Stella McCartney's foray into the world of lingerie. I have had my wistful eye on several pieces in the collection and went on net-a-porter to check it out.

Yet to my dismay, the selection they were selling or had left, only went up to a DD cup. I am sure I read in Vogue that she would be going up to big sizes but perhaps my subconscious invented that, so I'll have to check it out.

Unless someone can enlighten me... Do some of the styles go up to larger sizes? I can't seem to find this information anywhere!

How many knickers are normal?

I've just been re-organizing my lingerie drawer (I'm anally neat and everything is compartmented by item - bra, knicker, short, thong etc - Although, I'm not so bad that I fold my knickers!) and I realised that I have an awful lot of knickers/briefs - bottoms in general but not enough bras for my liking.

So I decided to count them and I have 49 pairs of pants/briefs/bottoms, call them what you will. This total does not include the contents of my laundry basket, which probably holds at least another 10 pairs.

Is this a lot?

It sounds like a lot and looks like a lot, but I never seem to have the perfect pair at hand to match whatever mood I am in! Just so you know, I do throw old ones out - I don't want you thinking I've hoarded them for years! However, I just never seem to have enough!

I guess it is a lot if you think I could go for at least 7-weeks without doing a wash! I counted my boyfriend's and he only has 10 pairs! I couldn't believe it - I know I would never be able to survive on just 10 - it's a scary thought!

Unfortunately I don't nearly have enough bras to match my bottoms. I have matching sets, but as you can guess from the multitude of briefs in my drawer, I am a mix and match kind of girl. I love cute little shorties for day wear (like these American Apparel boyish-girl pants below)and co-ordinate on special occasions!

...So how many knickers have you got? Do you think I am totally crazy?

Carousel Bra by Panache

If you're on a budget and are eyeing up brands such as Panache, Freya and Gossard, then Bra Stop is a a really good website that sells bras with up to 60% off. I've mentioned this site before, but I'll mention it again because it is so useful if you are desperate for bras but are strapped for cash, because bras in larger sizes can be so expensive.

I've been eyeing up this purple dotted 'Carousel' bra by Panache.

This plunge has sheer, non-padded cups with embroidered pink dots. Cute and flirty!

Available in sizes 30/38 DD/F

Bra - £19.95 (RRP £28)
Thong - £8.95 (RRP £12) The thong is only available in sizes 12-18.

My Favourite T-Shirt Bra

My absolute favourite T-shirt bra that I wear when I am relaxing, and want something soft enough to lounge about all day in, is from Debenham's Gorgeous range, the Lace Wing T-shirt bra.

It really is so comfy yet manages to look attractive with the double strap detail and lace body. I have it in a pale turquoise from last year's colour way, but I really should buy some more because I want to wear it almost everyday!

At £18 it's as reasonably priced as you're going to get for a good quality T-shirt bra in full cup sizes (By the way, do full-cup bra prices really annoy anyone else - It's so easy to find A-D cup bras around or even under the £10 mark)

Available in sizes 30/40 D/F cups.

Elixir de Lingerie by Lejaby Sicily Full Cup Bra

The Sicily Full Cup bra by Elixir de Lingerie by Lejaby is underwired and non-padded and comes in three colours; white, papaya and black.

The cups are embroidered with flowers and the contrasting scalloped edges are a really sweet detail. The straps are also embroidered with ribbon and appliqué - (in case you hadn't noticed by now, I have a thing about straps!).

I also really love that this bra is available in both full and three-quarter cups in the Sicily range, so if you like the design, you can choose a fit that is best for you. I really wish more brands offered this choice - if you know of any, please do comment! The bra also has a really broad range of back sizes, see below for details.

There are matching briefs and a thong available - I am a briefs girl anyway, but I do think the frill on the thong is a bit much.

Available in sizes 30/44 C/G
Briefs and thong available in sizes 1 - 6 (1 being a UK 8)

Bra - £53
Brief - £24
Thong - £29

Free Standard Delivery at Figleaves

Hey girls. Figleaves are offering free standard delivery until the 11th of February, which is handy if you are on the prowl for some new lingerie for Valentine's Day.

I like this Chantilly half cup bra by Chantelle. The lace forms a flattering shape across the body, it almost looks like a strapless bra, but with the straps! Oh, and the straps get the thumbs up from me, continuing the pretty lacing theme down the length.

Figleave's rating system gave this bra 4 1/2 stars, with 13 out of 14 customers saying they would recommend it to a friend.

The Chantilly bra comes in aubergine, apricot, ivory, black and red.

Available in sizes 32/38 B/F

Bra - £45

Pintuck Silk at La Senza

This silk balconette bra from La Senza is perfect for ladylike mademoiselle's.

The Cafe Latte colour is so chic with the rouched silk straps adding the perfect finishing touch. The pleats running up the cup disappear into the chocolate lace, that is prettily stitched onto the cups.

The matching briefs continue the lace and pintuck pleat motif and they have a sheer chocolate back. It's just unfortunate this bra only goes up to an E-cup.

Available in sizes 32/38 A/E cups.

Lasenza.co.uk offers free shipping on orders over £35 and free express shipping on orders over £100 in the UK. They give you a free gift box with your order with your lingerie tissue wrapped and they also throw in those cute little scented beads.

Prima Donna Menton Underwired Plunge Bra

The Prima Donna Menton Plunge bra at Rigby & Peller is one of those perfect, soft bras that you can wear everyday, yet it isn't as generically plain as an everyday bra.

The beautifully sculpted cups curve down to a low plunge so it can be worn under low cut tops, with a cute little bow that nestles between the breasts.

The colour and lacing is demure and understated but is attractive enough to impress should you find yourself déshabillé!

The Menton plunge comes in Black, Cognac and Natural and has matching briefs available.

Available in sizes 32/40 E/G

Bra - £51.95

Bra Fitting

We're always hearing statistics about how the majority of women are wearing an incorrect bra size, but it is so so important to wear a good fitting bra. For starters, your boobs will be uplifted and perky, and my personal favourite reason; it makes you look slimmer, as an uplifted bust will help to define your waist below.

Your straps dig into your shoulders, the cups sag or stand away from your bust (depending on whether the cups are padded or not), you get the dreaded 'four-boob' condition, the middle of your bra isn't laying flat against your chest; these are all indicators that your bra does not fit you.

Now I wasn't always an angel when it came to wearing the right size bra. I'd never quite gotten used to my chest, which suddenly appeared overnight, and the attention it received and I was in denial over how big it was. I had worn a 34D/DD for a couple of years until I finally admitted to myself that this was not my size. However, after visiting several high street fitters like Marks and Spencer's and John Lewis, annoyingly, I continued to be fitted at this size and given bras that had too much give in the back and often getting my pet-hate 'four-boob' condition.

I had heard on several occasions about how Rigby & Peller were bra fitting extraordinaires and finally visited them for a fitting about a year ago. You can generally walk into their stores and wait for an appointment (although it can sometimes be a while), but they do have allocated time slots for advance bookings.

The fitters at Rigby & Peller have amazingly trained eyes and they measure just by looking at your chest (with no bra on) - no tape measures used! The fitter took one look at me, disappeared and came back within seconds for a bra for me to try... Voila! It fit perfectly. When I looked at the label I almost had a heart attack to discover I was actually a 30F! I had no idea the bras I was wore were that off! I must admit I was quite upset at first when I thought about getting hold of pretty and affordable (Rigby & Peller can be quite expensive) bras in my size, and for any of you out there with the same concerns, they can be found! That's the reason I decided to set up this blog, because it can take a bit of hunting to find gorgeous big cup bras.

So apologies to my smaller cupped sisters but most of the bras featured on this site are aimed at those of us looking for big bra sizes, although do check occasionally because some of the bras featured do begin at an A-cup; just feel lucky that you have so much more choice!

Sexy Panties and Naughty Knicker’s Grace Bra

Loving the colour of this pure silk bra by Sexy Panties and Naughty Knickers. It might be cold and grey outside but this has got to brighten up your morning routine!

The half cups are lightly padded and underwired and are prettily offset by the pale pink satin straps and detailing. One of the things I am always looking out for are pretty straps; so often large cup bra’s are let down by inch-thick heavy duty strapping, which tend not to look so hot peeking out of your top!

The frilly edge of the cups looks gorgeous, as do the matching briefs. However, don’t be fooled into thinking frills are only for the good girls; the acronym for the brand’s name stitched next to the two hook fastening reads ‘S.P.A.N.K’!

Available in sizes 30/36 A/FF cups
Bra - £39
Brief - £26

Perfect for Valentine's Day

I am loving this flirty half-cup bra by Mimi Holliday at Bravissimo. It is no mean feat finding a DD+ bra with light padding where the cups aren't approaching my collar bone, but this bra manages to fulfill both criteria.

The lace edging and sheer briefs prevent the silk chiffon heart cups from looking too cute by mixing a dash of sexy.

Wear with a scooped neckline to take full advantage of the flattering décolletage this bra creates.

Available in sizes 28-36/DD-GG

Bra - £36
Briefs - £20
Thong - £18
